The short version

Who we are

Rekai is made by Onwords Automation Private Limited, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India ("Onwords", "we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Rekai app on iPhone or Android.

Your palm photo

You take a photo of your palm with the camera, or choose one from your photo library. Rekai resizes it on your phone and sends it over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our reading service.

The photo is used for one thing only: to write your reading. Our service passes it to a third-party AI service provider that looks at the photo and writes the reading text, then the reading comes back to your phone.

Please photograph only your own hand, or the hand of someone who has agreed. A palm photo is all Rekai needs; there is no reason to include a face.

Your name, if you give one

You can type a first name so the reading can speak to you by name. It is sent with the photo, used only to write that reading, and not stored by us, unless it appears in a reading you choose to report. Leave it blank if you prefer.

Your readings stay on your phone

Each reading is saved in Rekai's own storage on your phone, so you can open it again from Home or History. We do not keep a copy, unless you report it. Swipe a reading away in History to delete it with its photo, or delete the app to remove everything.

Sharing

When you tap Share or Save image, Rekai creates a reading card on your phone and hands it to your phone's share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice. Nothing is shared unless you tap.

Reporting a reading

If you tap Report, we receive the reason, any note you type and the text of that reading, which may include the first name you typed. We keep reports for up to 90 days to review them, then delete them.

A report is never stored with your palm photo, your app number or your IP address.

A random app number, for fair limits

Each reading costs us real money, so free readings are limited each day. To do that, Rekai creates a random number the first time it opens and sends it with each reading request. It is not your phone number, your Apple ID, your Google account or your device's advertising identifier, and it is not linked to your name or photo.

On our server we keep only that number, the date and how many readings were made that day. We delete these counts after 30 days. If you report a reading, we also keep a scrambled form of the number for a day or two, only to limit how many reports one phone can send. Deleting the app removes the number from your phone.

Technical records

For each request our server records basic technical facts: the time, whether it worked, how long it took and a random request number. These records never contain your photo, your name or your reading. Our hosting provider also handles your IP address briefly to deliver each request, as every website does. We do not use it to find your location.

Permissions

You can turn any of these off in your phone's Settings. Rekai still works with a photo from your library.

What we never do

Children

Rekai is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will help.

Your choices and rights

Because we keep almost nothing, most of your control is on your phone: delete a reading in History, or delete the app. Under the laws that apply to you, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us about your information, ask us to correct or erase it, or raise a grievance. Write to ceo@onwords.in and we will reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how Rekai handles information, we will update this page and the date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it applies.
